Please join us on May 15th for an exciting interactive dinner presentation led by Catherine A. Yanni. Cathy will address a number of issues that arise in the mediation of complex disputes, including:
Â· How to get the persons with adequate authority to the mediation
Â· How to conduct the joint session
Â· How to avoid dead time in a multiparty mediation
Cathy, who is a neutral with JAMS, has extensive experience as a mediator, arbitrator, special master, and discovery referee. As a mediator and arbitrator, she has handled over a thousand matters, including disputes in the areas of intellectual property, employment, class actions, insurance, commercial, environmental, real estate/construction/landslides, landlord/tenant, torts, and health/elder care. Cathy has handled a wide variety of multi-party cases. As a special master and discovery referee, she assists with the design of the case management process and adjudicates the issues. She mediates intellectual property matters including patent disputes, employment matters including sexual harassment and wrongful termination, environmental, landslide and other complex multi-party cases for the Federal District and No. California State Courts. Her presentation will include examples from construction, ADA, and mass tort (such as Phen fen) litigation.
The cost of this program is $50 per person. Members may bring guests. Valet parking will be available.
