THE MEDIATION SOCIETY will present its next Breakfast Roundtable, “”REGULATION OF MEDIATORS?”” a discussion led by Paul Dubow and Maury Zilber, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, 7:30 am–9:00 am at Golden Gate University 536 Mission Street, Room 2310 (formerly Room 217), San Francisco. The State Bar Commission on Revision of the Rules of Professional Conduct is considering adopting standards of conduct for attorney-mediators. The Judicial Council is trying to determine how complaints about mediators serving on court panels can be heard without violating confidentiality. The ABA Section of Dispute Resolution is working on revisions to the Model Standards of Conduct for mediators, and the California Dispute Resolution Council is looking at whether its Standards of Practice for California mediators should be updated. Regulation seems nearer than ever. The CDRC is looking for input from a broad range of mediators on these current developments. Paul and Maury, both members of CDRC and The Mediation Society, will lead a discussion focused on these issues. There is no charge for this event. Members may bring guests. Coffee, juice, and pastries will be served. To RSVP, please contact The Society’s administrator, Jaye Stedman, at or by telephone at (415) 388-7094.n
