Dear Members:

The Mediation Society is please to present Judge Bill Cahill, speaking on “Passionate Mediation: The Essential Ingredient.” Judge Cahill recently retired after 10 years on the San Francisco Superior Court, preceded by 10 years in a complex litigation and construction practice. A graduate of the University of California at Berkely and the Hastings College of Law, he is currently a member of J.A.M.B.S.

Recognized for his fairness, integrity and expertise in resolving difficult and complex cases, Judge Cahill has participated in mediation and the settlement process as counsel, as a client (supervising the San Francisco Couthouse construction project), as a successful settlement judge and as a private mediator. He will discuss his observations on the ingredients for a successful mediation, the present status of ADR in our court system, observations on mediation in the public and private sector and the role of hard work, creativity and passion in producting a successful result.n
