Description:
The American Bar Association recently passed a strongly worded resolution encouraging providers and consumers of ADR professionals to consider diversity in their selection process. The resolution specifically includes race, gender, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity and ethnicity. More information on the Resolution and the implementation plan can be found at the current Mediator’s Corner on our website. https://mediationsociety.org/ american-bar-association- embraces-diversity-in-dispute- resolution/
Please join us for an open and thoughtful discussion of the issues raised by this Resolution, and share your ideas and concerns about the best ways it can be implemented – both within The Mediation Society and in our own practices.
The discussion will be led by Frederick Hertz, who represents the LGBT concerns on the Steering Committee charged with implementing Resolution 105. Because of the sensitivity of the topic, the discussion will not be recorded, an in-person attendance is highly encouraged.
